Torah Thought-Kedoshim 5771 Friday, Apr 29 2011

This weeks Parshah is Kedoshim. The Parshah begins will a Mitzvah that is fundamental to our religion- Be Holy. Hashem asks us to walk in his path to follow his ways and to lead our friend’s neighbors and even complete strangers to join us. This Parshah is filled with Mitzvos like forbidden relations, loving you fellow Jew, respecting your parents and judging people favorably.

The reason for this is Hashem is not asking us to for impossible goals. He does not want us to fast and pray all day to connect with Him. G-d loves each and every one of us and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. The Almighty actively pursues a relationship with us and we need but show a sign. The mitzvos He gives us here are easy ways to strengthen our connection to him and integral parts of becoming a good person.

Yet why would The Holy One Blessed Be He but more lofty Mitzvos in this week’s Parshah? Why surround this amazing opportunity with such basic tasks?

G-d is giving us an amazing lesson. Don’t pray all day and fast in the synagogue but when you leave become a different person. Start form the bottom. Work on your character building up basic morals and the rest will follow. Show respect for your parents and listen to their wisdom. Love your fellow as your self and look out for their benefit as you do your own. Do these seemingly simple tasks and see if you entire life from outlook to attitude to actions does not have an incredible change for the positive. For these actions will make into a person that can attempt to walk in Hashem’s Path as one of his Holy ones

May we soon see the when we are all walk in Hashem’s ways and all hood his words with the coming f Moshiach Bekorrov Mammash. Amen

This week’s thought is dedicated to Adom and Joy. May Hashem grant them every conceivable blessing in an open and kind manner and may we soon be together in yerushalayim with Moshiach. Amen

Torah Thought-Achari Mos Friday, Apr 15 2011

This weeks Parshah is Achari Mos. In the Parshah we discuss the High Priest’s service on Yom kipper. This service atoned for all men and was given in the holiest room in the Temple. However the Kohen Godol did not where his special garments of gold and jewels but rather dressed in symbol white like any other Kohen.

The purpose of the Kohen Godol’s gold Garments were to separate him from all other to a position of honor and respect. And when the High Priest offered the one sacrifice that only he could with the intention to include all Jews he removed this Garment not despite its status but because of it. If someone wants to help another person no matter his station he must first approach the task in the right way. If you try to help from to gain honor, respect, or recognition the help you give has lesser value. First you must remove both mentally and physically all pride and then you can truly help your fellow man, to the point of erasing his sins.

This is similar to cleaning for Pesach where we not only remove any leaven items from our home but must remove any leaven or prideful feelings from our hearts and minds and only then are we able to go beyond our personal slavery our limitations and be redeemed like our ancestors.

May we soon see the day where all of our sins are forgiven and we can again physically see the Leader of our generation the Rebbe in the third temple with the Final Redemption. Amen

This week’s thought is dedicated to our Nosi Hador the Rebbe whose birthday is today. May we all be successful on bringing him true Nachas and satisfaction and be rewarding by being united with all of our loved ones with the Final redemption in time to celebrate Pesach with its proper Sacrifice in the Temple in Jerusalem. Amen

Torah Thought-Metzora 5771 Friday, Apr 8 2011

This week’s Parshah is Metzora. We discuss the rituals of how to purify yourself and rejoin the people. In these rituals we find an amazing concept. A man helps another man become purified before G-d. Furthermore The first man while doing so becomes impure himself.

This is an astounding idea. Two finite men can control each others spiritual connection to the infinite Creator. This is a reflection of the amazing connection between all Jews. Not only do we have a collective destiny, but we are so united that we can actually change each others spiritual status.

We must always remember all Jews are a single unit. We swim or float as a nation, one man with one heart, and one voice. And although one of us might falter form the path at one time or another it is the collective merit that saves us. On the other hand it is each one of our duties to watch out for our fellow Jews to help and encourage them to stay on G-ds path.

May we soon see the day when we all stand together physically and Hashem forgives all of our sins and we all return to our land with the coming of Moshaich.

This Weeks thought is dedicated to our Nosi the Rebbe Melech Hamoshaich whose 110th  Birthday is this coming Friday for over 61 years of Tireless leadership and total devotion to his Shluchim, his Chasidim, and all of Klal Yisroel. May we soon once again hear Torah from His mouth with the coming of Moshaich Bekorov Mammash. Amen

Torah Thought-Tazria Friday, Apr 1 2011

This week’s Parshah is Tazria. As we know there is a link between each Parshah and the one preceding and following it. The link between our Parshah and next week’s Parshah of Metzorah is simple as they both speak about a person who speaks Loshon Hara and is punished with a spiritual malady similar to leprosy. However last week’s Parshah speaks about the laws of kosher animals and the connection seems odd.

Jews have always taken pride in Kosher. For some that mean Cholov Yisroel, and for some it means Glatt meat. For some it’s just keeping Kosher within the home and for some it might just mean gefilta fish or kosher pickles. Yet even if it is just for Pesach or even if it’s just an added bonus, Kosher has always been an important part of our culture.

We are all very careful watching what goes into our mouth but many are lax when regarding what leaves it. The Torah compares embarrassing someone to murder and a word of gossip to a warrior’s arrow that once fired can never be undone that can hurt someone even if they are at a distance. The sages teach us that Loshon Hara hurts three people; the one who says it, the one who hears it, and the one it is said about.

We must all remember that our bodies are not ours but they are Hashem’s and He gave them to us as a gift. Just as we must be strict with what we let into our bodies, we must be strict with what we put out into the world. Hashem created teeth and lips providing two guards for our mouths, and we must strive to speak in a manner befitting G-d’s children.

May we soon see the day when no evil word is spoken and all mankind will join together and state proudly together, “Hashem G-d is King and His dominion rules over all” with the coming of Moshiach. Amen

This week’s Thought is dedicated to Clara Bracha and Shloimy. May you guys Have many happy and healthy years together and may we soon see the day when we are all together in Eretz Yisroel with the coming of Moshaich. Amen
